I. Mission Statement
Purpose
We, the Cornish Student Senate (CSS), in order to advocate for the best possible student experience, was established to develop an enriched Cornish College of the Arts community for all students.
As such, all enrolled students are members of the Cornish Student Senate. While the student body determines representatives at the end of each academic year to sit on the Senate, all students are welcome to attend our meetings, participate in discussion and suggest ways for improving the Cornish College of the Arts student experience.
Values
Transparency: CSS believes students have the right to be fully informed about college business, processes and procedures and is committed to keeping students up-to-date on decision- making that impacts student lives at the College.
Integrity: CSS believes that open and honest discourse is essential for ensuring the Cornish administration makes decisions to develop a positive Cornish community in collaboration with students.
Authenticity: CSS believes our school experience should develop and nurture students’ creative expressions to be dynamic, innovative and empathetic to best represent the unique mission and values of Cornish College of the Arts overall.
Inclusivity: CSS believes in continuously creating a community that allows students to fully participate in their educational experience, regardless of their diverse array of backgrounds and identities, and fully develop into artists, citizens and innovators.
